Trustees for the Sonoma Valley Unified School District interviewed four potential candidates for the job of high school principal on Thursday afternoon. The number of candidates had been whittled to four from the original 29 following an exhaustive paper screening and interview process involving a small army of Sonoma stakeholders.

Eight candidates made it through the paper screening process and were subsequently interviewed by two separate panels of nine people each all day Thursday. From that, four candidates were brought before the school board.

According to board President Helen Marsh, school Superintendent Louann Carlomagno is conducting follow up conversations with each of the four candidates today. A next step will most likely included groups visits to each of the candidates’ school sites.

“We’re want to stay on course to take action at the March board meeting,” said Helen Marsh, school board president. “At this point, we’re very excited.”
