Deputies raid $230k indoor pot farm

Sheriff’s deputies responding to a 911 call in Glen Ellen discovered a sophisticated indoor marijuana farm and cloning operation Monday.

When the deputies arrived at the Robertson Road residence May 17, they met Jeffrey Moore, 47, of Glen Ellen. According to the sheriff’s report, deputies conducted a protective sweep of the home and discovered a large-scale indoor marijuana growing operation.

Detectives from the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics unit were summoned to the scene and obtained a search warrant for the residence. While searching the tri-level residence, the report said, an extensive indoor hydroponics growing system was found. The basement area had been renovated to accommodate two large grow rooms. A third room, on the second floor, was also part of the operation.

The operation contained 1,512 growing plants ranging from three to four feet in height. Evidence at the scene, officials said, determined that Moore was maintaining cloning operation, and selling the clones for $7 a piece.
The growing plants reportedly had the potential to yield one-quarter pound of marijuana per plant, making the total street value of the plants at harvest $217,350, the report said. The clones at the operation are valued at $16,352.
Approximately three grams of cocaine were also found at the residence, according to the report.

Moore was taken into custody, and transported to the Main Adult Detention Facility. He was charged with cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to sell, possession of cocaine, and committing a felony while released on felony bail. The last charge stems from an arrest in 2008 by the Santa Rosa Police Department involving a marijuana cultivation investigation.
