Featured artists meet at Shirley Roberts’ new gallery in Jack London Village. Shown here are Lee Heili Terminello and Shirley Roberts of Sonoma, Heidi Pelot of Cotati, Bobbie Kabage of Sebastopol and Barbara White Perry of Sonoma with Sammy the Westie. Featured artists who are not pictured include Connie Berry of Sonoma and Cedora Scheiblich of Glen Ellen.

The recently opened Shirley Roberts Main Street Gallery in Glen Ellen’s Jack London Village brings together Roberts’ large network of California artists creating California art – landscapes, florals and stunning California scenery – with her unique vision for a new gallery. Having run her own gallery in Duncan Mills for years, Roberts has finally made the leap to Sonoma and is now busily selecting artists from all over the Valley and county to fill her new space.

The gallery’s grand opening was earlier in July but Roberts is planning something new – “First Saturdays” – that will start on August 7. First Saturdays will occur monthly on the first Saturday and feature a specially selected artist that rotates each month.

First Saturdays run from noon to 6 p.m. The August 7 event will be a day-long reception to welcome Roberts and her selected artists to Glen Ellen and patrons to the gallery. First Saturdays will continue monthly after that and, while Christmas shopping seems a long way off, Roberts is already planning for a December 4 First Saturday called “Little Gems,” where small paintings – on sale for under $100 – could make the perfect gift for a special someone.

Contact Roberts at 933.8003 or visit her web site at shirleyrobertsgallery.com.
