Disgraced soccer coach sentenced to jail

Nearly four years after engaging in unlawful sex with a minor, Gregory Vance Tatton has been sentenced to one year in county jail, five years of felony probation and a lifetime as a registered sex offender.
Wednesday’s ruling makes official a plea bargain struck just days before his July trial in which Tatton plead no contest to nine counts of sex with an underage girl who had played on one of his Sonoma Valley soccer teams. He originally faced 26 counts and a possible 18 years in prison.
Tatton had been free on $150,000 bail since his arrest in April of 2009
