Miles for Mentoring

Posted on August 26, 2010 by Sonoma Valley Sun

The 3rd Annual Sonoma/Springs Bicycle Festival offers an option for every level of cyclist on Saturday, September 18, at Depot Park. The “Miles for Mentoring,” a 25-mile round-trip to Bouchaine Winery, begins at 9 a.m. The new “Extra Credit” 50k ride challenges serious riders with the addition of completing the Lovall Valley Loop. Casual riders can cruise through the 10 a.m. “Family Fun” ride, a flat 7-mile jaunt to the Gundlach Bundschu Winery and back. The entry fee is $50 for the longer rides, $25 for the family ride and $10 for any ride for kids 12 and under. All entries include a post-race lunch and beer garden. The deadline to register is September 12. The free Bike Festival starts at the Depot Park finish line at 11 a.m. with vendor booths, entertainment, demo-bike displays and kids activities. The event is in support of the Sonoma Valley Mentoring Alliance as well as the Sonoma Valley Bicycle Coalition and Sonoma Valley Cyclists. Find more at sonomabikefest.org or 938.1990.
