As the former executive director for Audubon Canyon Ranch for 34 years, Maurice “Skip” Schwartz has spent his career devoted to land preservation, habitat protection and restoration, conservation science and environmental education for adults and children. Schwartz was honored on September 19 by Audubon Canyon Ranch’s new Executive Director, J. Scott Feierabend, its board of directors, staff and volunteers, at an event at its 535-acre Bouverie Preserve in Glen Ellen. As part of the recognition, a trail will be renamed the “Skip Schwartz Trail” at ACR’s Martin Griffin Preserve in Stinson Beach.
