Write for rights

Each year hundreds of thousands of people across the world mark International Human Rights Day on December 10 by taking part in the world’s largest letter writing event. The community is invited to join the Sonoma Valley Write-a-Thon as they mark their third year writing letters for Amnesty International’s Write for Rights Global Write-a-thon. 

The Sonoma event takes place from 1 to 3 p.m. at Barking Dog Roasters in the Marketplace Shopping Center.

The local group will write letters to demand that the rights of individuals are respected, protected and fulfilled. In doing so, they show solidarity with those suffering human rights abuses and work to bring about real change in people’s lives.   Available will be action cases, cards, paper and stamps.
