In an annual holiday tradition, philanthropist, vintner and concert promoter Bruce Cohn distributed the proceeds from his 24th Annual B.R Cohn Charity Events Fall Music Festival held in October at the B.R Cohn Winery amphitheatre in Glen Ellen. The event raised over $200,000 for various charities.

The three-day Fall Festival was held in October and featured the Doobie Brothers, Cheap Trick, Grand Funk Railroad, War, The Turtles, Eddie Money, Loverboy, Night Ranger, the Eyewitness Blues Band and a rare performance by the Greg Kihn Band.
“I was extremely pleased with the outcome this year and appreciate people’s generosity in a difficult economic climate,” said Cohn. “I would like to thank all the musicians, volunteers and my staff who helped make this year a great success.” Over the years Cohn has been able to raise over 5 million dollars for various local and national charities including national veteran’s organizations. This year the festival primarily benefited American Legion Post 489, Sonoma Valley Mentoring Alliance, Little Kids Rock, Sonoma Jazz + Music in Education and Salvation Army. Cohn also distributes thousands of dollars to many local organizations that request funds through the course of the year.

Next year’s event is scheduled for the weekend of September 23-26, 2011.  It will be the event’s 25th anniversary. Check the website brcohn.com for early ticket information and headliners. For more concert information please call 1-800-330-4064 ext. 127.
