Skate shop burglarized

Posted on March 2, 2011 by Sonoma Valley Sun

A burglar managed to drag merchandise through a small opening in a storage area at Sonoma Old School, making off with clothes and shoes valued at about $1,000.

Owner Robert Wilson discovered the crime Tuesday morning when he noticed empty and bent hangers on the floor of a storage area.

The thief did not actually enter the storage space, but was able to insert a reaching device of some kind to knock merchandise off hangers and racks. The goods were then dragged to the opening and removed.

Wilson said that security video shows a suspect walking away from his Broadway shop with three full bags. The police dusted for fingerprints as part of their investigation

Wilson said he has taken immediate steps to secure the area, including adding additional video cameras.

  1. Robert has done nothing but good for the youth of Sonoma including ensuring the reopening of the local Skate Park. I sincerely hope that the Punk that did this is caught and made to stand in front of the Shop with a Sign admitting what he did. This may sound harsh but Robert deserves nothing more than respect from the residents of Sonoma.
