Family ties at record-setting fundraiser

Posted on March 4, 2011 by Sonoma Valley Sun

A fundraiser for the American Heart Association last night at St. Francis Winery raised a record $50,000, according to winery President Christopher Silva (at right), pictured with AHA Executive Director Craig Nelson and former North Bay AHA President Alba Silva.

Silva is also chairman of the Board of Trustees of Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, and his grandmother, Alba Silva, 97, was the first woman president of the board of the North Bay AHA in Sonoma County, back in 1964.

Silva said his grandmother addressed a full house and spoke of the importance of supporting AHA programs.
