Senior project raises money for Unicef

Posted on April 1, 2011 by Sonoma Valley Sun

Bella Baxter’s dream is to become an anthropologist and work with indigenous cultures to provide education and medical technology. To get a little closer to realizing that goal, Bella is holding a fundraiser for Unicef as her senior project for Sonoma Valley High School.

The fundraising event is this Saturday, April 2 from 3 to 5 p.m. at MacArthur Place and includes refreshments and a silent auction with donations like gift certificates to local restaurants and wineries, health club memberships, jewelry, clothing, and much more.

“The Plaza businesses were a big help in donating items for the auction,” said Bella. “Whole Foods has been great with donating desserts and MacArthur Place will provide coffee.” Bella herself will also provide additional home baked items.

Bella went on to say that her mentor, Linda Clark, was instrumental in guiding her through the project and the silent auction process. “She’s been the greatest.”

Bidding for the auction closes at 4:45 p.m. For more information email Bella Baxter at [email protected]
