A dress rehearsal — in this case, fluffy ears, wet noses and full fur – for “Dogs! It’s the Musical!” takes the stage Tuesday night at the Sonoma Community Center.
The world premiere, directed by Nellie Cravens for Silver Moon Theatre, opens on Friday night, April 15. With 27 roles, 20 in dog costumes, the story follows an angel sent to earth as a dog, who must learn the ways of the canine in the dog park, doggie day care and an animal control center.
Performances will be Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 3 p.m., through May 15. There will be no performances on April 22 or 24. Tickets are $20 and are available at the community center, 938.4626 and sonomcommunitycenter.org.
