Busy schedule keeps Easter Bunny hopping

The Easter Bunny will be working his furry little tail off this year, hiding eggs for four free hunts throughout the Sonoma Valley.

The Annual Soroptimist International Sonoma Valley Easter Egg Hunt hops into Sonoma Plaza on Saturday, April 23. Special guest The Easter Bunny, after hiding candy and prize eggs about the park, will personally greet children in advance of the 10 a.m. hunt.

Bunny, reached at his executive hutch, said he wouldn’t miss the fun for all the carrots in all the world. “I love Sonoma,” he said. “It makes me feel so energized.”

For the hunt, children will be placed in one of four age groups. Twelve special eggs (three in each division) will be hidden among dozens of candy-filled plastic eggs. Kids finding the “special” eggs will receive Easter Gift Baskets.

The bunny will also work his seasonal magic in Kenwood and Glen Ellen on Saturday. On Easter Sunday, he’ll bury his handiwork at the Moose Lodge in Sonoma (see below).

Meanwhile, sources close to Bunny said that he is weaving baskets and perfecting his recipe for egg salad. While in town, he hopes to find time to visit relatives at the community garden, and perhaps drop by a local spa.
“After my busy weekend, I like to relax with a nice cup of grass tea and a mani-pedi — all that digging really does a number on my nails” he said. “Plus a little rub behind the ears is nice, too.”

Hoppy hunting grounds

Each hunt has special areas for different ages groups. Bring a basket, and be ready to start exactly on time.

Sat., April 23
Kenwood: 9 a.m. in Plaza Park.
Glen Ellen: 10 a.m. at Dunbar School.
Sonoma: 10 a.m. on Sonoma Plaza.
Sonoma: 9:30 a.m. at the Moose Lodge,
