Cap, gown and Cadillac

Posted on June 14, 2011 by Sonoma Valley Sun

Elena Tennant takes the keys to her new car from Sonoma Chevrolet’s Dan Roseland, left, who donated the Cadillac to the Sonoma High School grad night raffle. Bob Nobles, at right, started the tradition many years ago when he owned the dealership.

Roseland has carried on the tradition, donating a ‘new’ used car to the event that keeps the high school graduates safe and sober after the official ceremony.

“Is that me?” Tennant recalled thinking when her name was called at about five a.m. Picking up the car several days later, “it still hasn’t sunk in yet.” Tennant said her immediate plans call for summer fun, then it’s off to college in Santa Barbara in the fall.
