When it comes to cars, NASCAR isn’t the only game in town this weekend. Pixar’s “Cars 2,” reuniting Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) and his pal Mater the tow truck (Larry the Cable Guy), opens Friday, June 24 at the Sebastiani Theatre. John Lasseter conceived the story for, and co-directed, the sequel, which shifts the action from the sleepy, nostalgic Route 66 setting of the first movie to a top-speed, international adventure. The name of a new character, agent Holley Shiftwell, signals the film’s James Bond-ian aspirations. For good measure, Michael Caine joins the cast as a suave spymaster. The first of four shows, daily through Sunday, begins at 11:30 a.m. Sebastianitheatre.com. 996.2020.
