B&G Club kicks it for the trophy

Posted on July 16, 2011 by Sonoma Valley Sun

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley reigned supreme in the inaugural Corporate Kickball Tournament held Saturday at Hughes and Teeter Fields. The B&GC has taken the pitch out of the boardroom and onto the playing field in its latest campaign to raise corporate money for after school programs.

After three elimination rounds, the final game, played at 3 p.m. and broadcast on SunTV, found the B&GC pitted against rival team, the St. Francis Solano School’s Dad’s Club. The game was close with both teams playing for the win. In the end, the B&GC took the title, and the trophy, with a 7-2 win in the bottom of the 7th inning.

Other teams participating in the tourney included: The Other Guys, Sonoma Materials, Bank of Marin, Ken Brown and Friends, and Frank Crystal & Co.
