Little Vineyards wins big at state fair

Posted on August 4, 2011 by Sonoma Valley Sun

Glen Ellen’s Little Vineyards Family Winery was awarded both Double Gold and Best of Class, Sonoma Appellations medals for their 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon at the 2011 California State Fair. At 98 points Little’s Sonoma Valley Cabernet tied the top scoring Cabernet in Napa. This wine was made with grapes grown hillside at the Little Family’s estate vineyard in Glen Ellen. Also awarded were silver medals for their Band Blend red table wine and 2009 Syrah-Zinfandel. These wines were all recently released and are currently available in the Little Vineyards tasting room.
Total production for Little is only 1200 cases as they are dedicated to producing small lots of hand-crafted, premium red wines from estate grown fruit. The tasting room is open Thursday through Monday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and with advance notice you can even arrange for a private food and wine pairing lunch overlooking the vineyard.
Contact the winery at 996.2750.
