The heavy machinery is lined up as prep work continues on a 26-unit development on West MacArthur Street between First and Second Streets.
The concept for the 2.37-acre parcel, first proposed in 2003, has evolved from duplex rental units to detached units on individual lots with small yards. The three-bedroom homes will be built around a new, U-shaped private street.
Five of the 26 units will be affordable housing. Two houses and several accessory buildings dating back to the 1930’s were razed to make way for the project.
