Café Scooteria opens cart, fills delivery niche

Posted on September 8, 2011 by Sonoma Valley Sun

There’s a new drive-thru coffee cart in town and this one is also set to bring the joe right to the door of your business. Café Scooteria is located at Sorento Imports, 455 West Napa Street, and might just be the cutest cart you’ve ever seen. Built inside a 1966 Lambretta trike, the mobile cart is likely the only full-service coffee and espresso business on three-wheels.

Owners Nick and Carissa Grimm grind all coffee and espresso beans on site to ensure a fresh cup of coffee every time. Previously, Nick Grimm worked as a barista for five years and according to his wife, has turned the blended drinks into and “art form.”

Café Scooteria offers French and Italian coffee and blended drinks from the espresso machine. Also available, ice blended coffee drinks and smoothies, hot and cold chai drinks, fresh juice and yogurt as well as gelato.

And beginning this month, the café will start making deliveries of ordered items on a vintage Vespa scooter. To place an order, call them at 938.0800.

Sorento Motors has been converting scooters to several different mobile food carts in recent years. From pizza ovens to gelato carts, hot dog stands to tamale carts, they do it all. They’ve worked extensively with the Sonoma County Health Department to understand the allowable uses of food service carts and will work with the customer to assure a legal mobile cart from design to certification.
