Setting course for 'Treasure Island'

Posted on October 1, 2011 by Sonoma Valley Sun

No swash is left unbuckled in Nellie Craven’s clever staging of the Robert Louis Stevenson yarn.

A big, busy cast, sword fights, men overboard, peg leg and parrot, hidden booty and pirate accents heavier than a cask of rum. The simple set, anchored by the rigging of a sailing ship, projects into the U-shaped seating to draw the audience even further into the action. Two hooks up!

The show at Andrews Hall plays Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., and Sunday at 3 p.m., through October 9. Tickets are $15-$22. Contact 938-4626 x1 or the Sonoma Community Center box office.

  1. CONGRATULATIONS to Silver Moon Theatre for winning the “President’s Award” & 2nd place in the 2011 Vintage Festival Parade! The kids loved getting pieces of eight from the pirates.
