Shop local at Fat Pilgrim

Posted on December 8, 2011 by Sonoma Valley Sun

The general store has gotten an upscale facelift with Fat Pilgrim, the newest endeavor from local, Craig Miller, owner of Harvest Home and the Sonoma Hotel.

But in this case, the word “upscale” doesn’t necessarily mean expensive. Sure there are some pricey items in Miller’s store. But there are also dozens of fabulous little gift ideas – for friends, family, yourself – for under $20. A fun mix of furniture, housewares, bedding, kitchen items, bath and body and even an entire kids’ section, the store is chock full of color and cool stuff. Packaged food items and beverages are also available to keep the shopper in you going while you poke around and peruse the offerings.

“I wanted this space for years,” said Miller of the southern Broadway property previously home to the Lonesome Cowboy Ranch. In addition to the main store, Miller has plans to give the grounds a “village” feel, eventually converting the outbuildings into separate retail areas for outdoor furniture and even home grown organic veggies come spring.

For now, Miller is content to fill his shop with interesting and unique merchandise sure to appeal to a broad audience – a perfect addition to Sonoma.
