Plaza restaurant fire

Posted on January 2, 2012 by Sonoma Valley Sun

Five fire trucks, plus support vehicles and Sonoma police cruisers, responded to reports of a fire in the kitchen walls of Maya Restaurant on Monday afternoon. No one was injured, as the restaurant and second-floor offices were closed at the time. Crews used chain saws and other power tools to gain complete access to the smoldering fire, which was most likely centered in the kitchen’s flue exhaust system.
