    Regarding the question you received from a reader, about their old Lab who’s suddenly panting a lot — I would suggest they talk to their vet about the possibility of Cushing’s Disease, a common disease of elderly dogs. Excessive panting, excessive thirst, incontinence, and hair loss around the tail are common outward signs. Medication is available.
