Dinner and a (radio) show

Posted on June 11, 2012 by Sonoma Valley Sun

Diners at Murphy’s Irish Pub will be immersed in the world of old-time radio in the new Murphy’s Mellow-Drama series — a recreation of the 1940’s radio show hit “Duffy’s Tavern” on Monday night, June 11.

The actual script will be acted out, as it was back in radio’s heyday, with actors in period clothing, era music, and authentic commercials. Portraying the radio actors are the Mellow-Drama Players: Jeremy Berricl, Carson Campbell, Julia Holsworth, Rich Holsworth, Sherill Peterson and Sharron Simpson.

The dining-and-drama experience, said Pub Manager Hunt Bailie, is sure to leave pub-going audiences begging for more – and possibly for mercy.

Tickets are $45 and include a three-course dinner, with a glass of wine or beer included, and the stage show. Tickets are on sale at the pub, 464 First. St. E.. or at 935.0660.
