Vets remembered with holiday wreaths

Posted on December 12, 2012 by Sonoma Valley Sun

Wreaths Across America, a nationwide holiday remembrance of veterans, returns to Sonoma Veterans Memorial Park on Saturday, December 15.

The community is invited to attend, and the ceremony will take place rain or shine beginning at 8:45 a.m.

Military members from all of the armed services will be on hand to place commemorative wreaths, and the community will then be invited to help place wreaths on all of the graves.

For those who wish to place a wreath on the grave of a loved one or friend, members of the military will be standing by to accompany them and render honors if requested.

Similar ceremonies will take place at over 60 veterans cemeteries in all 50 states, at 24 American military cemeteries on foreign soil, and aboard a U.S. Navy ship sailing on each of the seven seas.
