La Luz will get the run of Cornerstone Sonoma for a $15,000 party for 150 people, the reward for attracting the most public votes during Cornerstone’s “Thursday Late Nights” holiday promotion.

Some 20 local nonprofit organizations and schools took up the challenge to get their members and friends out to Cornerstone to vote for their respective organizations. The program ended December 20.

“For us at La Luz, it became a fun challenge – we do know there are bigger and stronger non-profits when it comes to mobilizing troops, but we took it up with much gusto as we do with all of our programs and projects,” said Juan Hernandez III, La Luz Executive Director.

“We certainly appreciate Cornerstone’s creative initiative, encouragement and support,” he said.
The extensive Grand Prize calls for up to 150 guests enjoying full use of the Cornerstone facilities including the gardens, the large tent and the barn as well as use of a two-bedroom guest cottage on the night of the event, plus 15 percent off catering services from Park Avenue Catering at Park 121 Café.

Also included is on site professional pre-event planning services by Savvy Events (up to four hours), $2,000 worth of props and services from Artefact Design & Salvage and Zipper Gifts, $1,000 worth of floral arrangements from Tesoro Flowers, and half-off all select wines from Meadowcroft Wines.

Thursday Late Nights that took place each November 29 to December 20. Even with two of the four evening events marred by rainy weather, hundreds of people came to shop, participate in many of the on-going demonstrations in the various shops, taste wine and dine at the newly opened Park 121 Café.

“The objective was to create a fun, unique and exciting event where the nonprofits and local business get to experience a mutual benefit working together,” said event coordinator Desiree Stinson, the general manager at Artefact Design & Salvage. “All of us at Cornerstone are proud to be included in our dynamic and generous community.”
