Posted on March 2, 2013 by Sonoma Valley Sun

Jose Ortiz-Calderon, 28, of Sonoma, has been found guilty of three felonies, including sexual assault, assault with force likely to commit great bodily injury, and false imprisonment.

The defendant and victim had been neighbors for several years and had been dating for three months. After spending an evening together, Ortiz-Caldron refused to give the victim her keys when she told him she wanted to go home. When the victim returned the next morning to retrieve her keys, he sexually assaulted her, and pushed her into the bathtub, causing her to strike her head on the faucet.

Sentencing is scheduled for April 22. Ortiz-Calderon faces up to eight years in prison.
