Community meeting on animal welfare

Posted on April 22, 2013 by Sonoma Valley Sun

Sonoma County Animal Care and Control, in partnership with Pets Lifeline, hosts a community outreach meeting on Thursday, April 25, at the Sonoma Valley Boys & Girls Club.

It is one of several such meetings being held around the County to seek input from all animal lovers on the future of animal care and control services in Sonoma County.

“If you’re interested in the care and welfare of animals in Sonoma County, please attend,” said Sandra Lupien, communications and outreach manager. “This is a chance to hear updates about what’s happening in animal services throughout Sonoma County, and for animal service providers to hear your input.

At the meeting, you’ll hear a brief presentation about the background and process of the Animal Services Workgroup, along with its draft vision and proposed goals for working collaboratively to meet the needs of animals in this community. “The greater portion of the meeting,” Lupien said, “will be devoted to hearing public feedback on these proposed goals in order to ensure they’re right for our community.”

The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 100 W. Verano Avenue.
