A 15-year-old girl told police she pulled out off the grasp of a would-be kidnaper Saturday evening, one of four men who confronted her near Taco Bell on Hwy 12 and Verano Avenue.

The teen was walking home from Maxwell Park at about 6 p.m. when a dark green Lexus sedan pulled up next to her and stopped. According to the police report, four black males exited the car and confronted her.

“They called her cute and told her to get in their car,” stated Sgt. Spencer Crum.

One suspect grabbed the girl’s arm and tried to get her in the car but she managed to pull out of his grasp. She fell to the sidewalk, then ran back to Maxwell Park where her family members were located.

The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance to solve this crime. If anyone witnessed this incident or has any information they are encouraged to call Deputy Steve Lucchetti at 707.565.2650.
