Toscano Hotel Needs Docents

Posted on July 9, 2013 by Submitted

Editor:Are you curious about the history of the Toscano Hotel and Kitchen? It is thought to be one of the oldest wood frame buildings in Sonoma and has a rich and varied history. Would you like to meet visitors to Sonoma and spend time explaining the hotel’s exhibits and history to them? Then why not become a docent at the Toscano Hotel and Kitchen.

Docent training is sponsored by California State Parks in cooperation with Sonoma-Petaluma State Historic Parks Association and will run two days beginning Saturday, August 17 and Sunday, August 18 at the Toscano Hotel. After training, docents will lead tours on Saturday and Sundays from 1pm to 4pm.

If you love the history of Sonoma, have a natural curiosity, enjoy people, and like sharing with others, becoming a docent may be just the thing for you.

To sign up for the training, or get more information, please call or email Volunteer Coordinator Jennifer Hanson: [email protected] or call (707)762-4871.
