High School, already?
Believe it or not, Sonoma Valley High School Registration and School Picture days, a.k.a. RUSH, are coming up on August 9 and 12. These are the days students take school ID photos, parents and students complete paperwork, pay fees, make donations, and pick up school calendars and class schedules.
On Friday, August 9, Freshman RUSH will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. The period for seniors follows from 6 to 8 p.m. On Monday, August 12, sophomore RUSH will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., followed by juniors from 6 to 8 p.m. Activities take place in the Pavilion area and inside Pfeiffer Gym. Parents are highly encouraged to attend RUSH with their student.
Grade level packets may be picked up in the main office beginning Thursday, August 1, at 9 a.m.
All students will have their school ID photo taken in the Pavilion. Parents and students will turn in their completed grade level packet forms and emergency card in Pfeiffer Gym. Information and paperwork will also be available for students interested in participating in school athletics and cheer, S.V.H.S. Booster’s Club, Grad Night, and other school clubs. Transportation and Food Services will also be there to collect forms. School Calendars and Student Planners will be available at no cost.
Parents can save time by filling out all required paperwork before arrival. Students must be cleared of all fees, equipment and books from last year in order to receive their current class schedule. Students are encouraged to purchase an ASB Stickerto help support student activities and receive discounts to school activities and free passes to athletic events ($60).
Donations asked for the 2013-14 school year are: S.V.H.S. Technology for maintenance & materials for labs and student computers ($40) and Library Materials for online databases and periodicals ($20). P.E. Clothing will also be available – t-shirt and shorts $10 each, sweat shirts, sweat pants $15 each. Students must wear P.E. approved top and bottom. Checks payable to S.V.H.S. will be accepted.
After students have completed all the steps listed above they will receive their class schedule. Go Dragons!
