Empowered… maybe

The folks from your new power company, the Sonoma Clean Power Authority, were in town Monday to talk about the changeover from PG&E. The biggest complaint concerned the opt-out clause, which means folks can switch back to PG&E but must go to the onerous lengths of mailing back a form or making a phone call –- all within three months of notification! Paper cuts, postal strike, bad cell coverage — yes, the dangers are immense, but nobody said freedom of choice was easy… Pining for the simpler days of life under a PG&E monopoly, one gent complained about the burden of the opt-out responsibility. Came the heckled response, “I’ll buy you the stamp.”
