Decked out for the Red & White Ball, Sonoma teenager Cristian Isbrandtsen worked the event to raise money for local schools, donating the $10 portrait fee to the Sonoma Valley Education Foundation. The teenager has just started his own nonprofit photography business, hoping to take portraits of individuals and families visiting at wineries, and at events. His goal is to raise money and donate 100 percent of his earnings to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. After attending Pixar/Disney’s “Monsters University” preview party in June, which benefited JDRF, Isbrandtsen was very touched by the young boys and girls he heard about with this disease, and decided to dedicate himself to raising money to that cause. Isbrandtsen grew up in Sonoma and attended the Presentation School for nine years, graduating in 2012. He was awarded both the President’s Education Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement and The Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizenship Award.
