Posted on November 18, 2013 by Sonoma Valley Sun

A hooded man brandishing an assault weapon robbed the Subway Sandwich Shop on Broadway on Saturday night, according to Sonoma police.

The store clerk said a white male adult wearing a black coat with a hood pulled up over his head entered the store at about 8:40 p.m. The suspect removed an assault type weapon from his jacket and pointed it the clerk, demanding all the money from the cash register.

After the clerk handed over the contents of the register, the suspect demanded money from the safe. The clerk told the suspect he didn’t have the combination to the safe. After ordering the clerk to the ground, the suspect ran out the back door with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 30s, medium build with brown unshaven facial hair. If anyone has any information regarding this case they are encouraged to contact the Sonoma Police Department at 707.996.3602.
