Work is underway to add a Pet Food Express store and turn the erstwhile Blockbutser location at Valley Mart Shopping Center into the new Sonoma home of the Redwood Credit Union. Redwood will have a short move – the branch is already located in the center, at Fifth Street West and West Napa Street.
Pet Food Express, which operates 52 stores in Northern California, will occupy much of the northern façade of the center, taking spaces currently occupied by Patt’s Copy World, Scandia Bakery and Body and Soul. The expansion will set off a chain of subsequent moves: the bakery will re-locate within the center; Patt’s will move to an empty retail spot at 677 First St. W.; and Body and Soul will close down its business.
