SV Chamber chief steps down

Sonoma Valley Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jennifer Yankovich announced her retirement Wednesday, effective immediately.

“There’s no perfect time for this kind of change, but now is the right time for me, particularly given the strength of the current board and staff members,” Yankovich said.

The Chamber’s credibility is strong, she said, and its membership continues to increase along with innovative economic development projects and community partnerships.

“It has truly been a privilege and an honor for me to serve this organization over the past 15-plus years,” Yankovich said.

The Chamber board has appointed an executive committee to choose Yankovich’s replacement. President Neil Colwell chairs the search committee, which includes Vice President, Casey Mazzoni; Treasurer, Amanda Smith and Ben Shih.

“The board is entering a new chapter for our organization and we are committed to its continued success” Colwell said “Sonoma Valley is a better place to live, work and play because of the legacy of chamber leadership.”

The Sonoma Valley Chamber of Commerce formed in 1909 to provide business advocacy, promotion, networking, education, and economic development services.
