Financial scam fugitive found in Sonoma

Posted on March 26, 2014 by Sonoma Valley Sun

A woman wanted by Daly City police for Financial Elder Abuse was arrested Monday night in a Sonoma condominium.

A tipster told Sonoma police that Christina Marie Pruitt, 57, was living at a condominium on La Mancha Way in Sonoma. She was found hiding in a bedroom and arrested without incident at about 6:30 p.m.

In March of 2013, the Daly City Police Department obtained a felony arrest warrant for Pruitt, but did not know here whereabouts. In September of 2013, it was determined that Pruitt was living on the 100 block of La Mancha Way.

The Sonoma County Property Crimes Detectives were asked to attempt to arrest Pruitt in September of 2013. Detectives went to Pruitt’s condominium several times but she was never home.

Neighbors told detectives they had not see Pruitt for a long time. Detectives believe Pruitt went into hiding because she knew she was wanted.

Monday, a resident of the condominium complex called the Sheriff’s Office when Pruitt was seen returning to her condo. When deputies arrived, Pruitt refused to open the door.

Under a new arrest warrant, deputies entered Pruitt’s unlocked residence and found her hiding in her bedroom. Pruitt was arrested for her outstanding felony arrest warrant. Bail was set at $50,000.
