'Little Shop' opens Thursday

Posted on April 14, 2014 by Sonoma Valley Sun

Matlock Zumsteg is Seymour, the nerdy florist tormented by a bloodthirsty plant in
“Little Shop of Horrors,” the rock musical coming to The Rotary Stage at Andrews Hall on April 17.

SThe Narrow Way Stage Company production, directed by Chris Ginesi, opens the Sonoma Theatre Alliance Festival of Theatre 2014. The Disney-bound team of Alan Menken and Howard Ashman wrote the doo-woppy score for the original 1982 play, which follows Seymour as he blooms into fame just as his singing plant grows on a diet of human blood.

A black comedy with a beat, the show runs Thursdays-Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m., through May 4. Tickets are $20-$30. Passes to all eight shows in the Sonoma Theatre Alliance season are also available. 938.4626. Svbo.org.
