Arrest in vacation home burglary spree

Posted on April 16, 2014 by Sonoma Valley Sun

A woman suspected of burglarizing unoccupied Sonoma County vacation homes was arrested after detectives found stolen goods in her Santa Rosa home. Lisa Ann Lopez, 42, is linked to break-ins in the cities of Sonoma, Guerneville, Cloverdale, Bodega Bay and Healdsburg, said Sonoma County sheriff’s Sgt. Michael Raasch.

Lopez became the focus of the investigation on March 29 when she was spotted outside a vacation home, the site of an earlier break-in, on Summit Avenue in Guerneville. A neighbor noted suspicious activity, and noted the license plate of Lopez’ BMW as she drove away.

A check of the premises revealed the home had been burglarized again, Raasch said.

Two hours later, the wanted BMW was spotted in Santa Rosa. Detectives found a TV stolen from the Summit Avenue home, and Lopez was arrested without incident.

Stolen property linking her to a spree of countywide burglaries was found at her home. Lopez was booked into the county jail for burglary and possession of stolen property. Her bail of $250,000 was set after detectives requested a bail increase.
