Amelia Lee, 10, and Chelsea Young, 9, add their own flourishes to the annual, weeklong mural project at Dunbar School. When completed, this year’s panel, called “Explore and Discover,” becomes an interactive teaching tool about water in nature, explained art coordinator Beth Bierman.
Mendocino artist Janet Self also oversaw the fourth annual project, in which each and every Dunbar student takes part. The project is underwritten by the Sonoma Plein Air Foundation.

So fantastic these kids get to do something creative and fun! The development of the students intelligence cannot be separated from the encouragement of their imaginations. We need more of this! Otherwise we’re just raising a bunch of robots
