Assemblymember Marc Levine has recognized the Carneros Brewing Company as the Small Business of the Year in the 10th Assembly District. Joining Levine, second from left, for Monday’s presentation at the capitol in Sacramento Amelia, Marta, Rachel and Jesus Ceja.

“Carneros Brewery has made a name for itself in the North Bay and beyond,” said Levine.

Visit UsThe business is one of the first Latino-owned breweries in the United States. Since opening last year, Levine said, brewmaster Jesus Ceja and his family have hosted numerous events for community organizations and nonprofits in the North Bay. Sustainability is a major business component as well, Levine said, “as they handcraft every batch using local ingredients and hops grown at the brewery in Sonoma.”

The Ceja family members, Mexican-American immigrants from the states of Mihcoacán and Jalisco, also operate a successful winery in Napa.

“We are honored to receive this award,” said Jesus Ceja. “We appreciate the recognition and are grateful to the community for the support they have shown us in the past year.”
