The Sonoma Community Center welcomes back visiting artist Father Bruno Segatta to offer two special painting workshops for teens and adults on August 16-17.

A native of Italy, Father Bruno has practiced and studied art, language and travel since earning his degree from Northridge University in 1982. Father Bruno is a renowned master artist and his paintings are displayed in galleries around the world. For over 30 years, he has instructed painting, drawing, design and the delicate techniques of fresco.

During a visit here in 2013, Father Bruno demonstrated his enthusiastic teaching style and passion for encouraging artistic exploration in his students. “We’re thrilled to bring Father Bruno to Sonoma,” said SCC Executive Director Toni Castrone. “Father Bruno helps students to really cut loose with their work. It’s a lot of fun, and a very freeing experience for everyone involved.”

SCC will be offering scholarships for teen participants, thanks to a grant from the Sonoma Plein Air Foundation. During his stay in Sonoma (hosted by avid fans Audrey and Ron Chapman), Father Bruno will lead two workshops: “Make Your Own Masterpiece,” for teens ages 13-17 on Saturday, August 16, 1 to 4 p.m. at Sonoma Community Center; and, on Sunday, August 17, “Adventures in Acrylic Painting,” a workshop for all levels of adult artists, 1 to 4 p.m. For fees and other details contact 938.4626 x1.
