Fresh faces at B&G Clubs
An organizational restructuring at Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley is nearly complete with the addition of Klara Crean, director of School Programs & Education, and Donovan DiLorenzo, director of Teen Program Services & Athletics.
Crean will focus on program development and implementation in afterschool education and enrichment at Clubs school sites including Dunbar Elementary, El Verano Elementary, Flowery Elementary, Sassarini Elementary, Altimira Middle School, and Maxwell Clubhouse.
In his new role, Donovan will be responsible for oversight of Teen Programs including College Bound & Career Launch. He will also work with the athletic director to improve and enhance opportunities in sports and recreation for Sonoma Valley youth.

Prior to joining the BGCSV, Klara Crean worked in leadership, coaching and educational design projects focused on motivation, personalized learning, and technology. Early in her career, she worked in an advertising agency, an early childhood research lab, and lead summer outdoor education camps for children ages 9 to 14.
Crean, who holds BA and MA in Psychology from Stanford University, has volunteered in Sonoma with a variety of youth focused nonprofits, such as SVMC, SVYSA and the Presentation School, where she co-founded the Presentation Speaker Series. Klara was previously an executive board member at Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma where she chaired the Programs Committee, She and her husband live in Sonoma and are raising two boys.
DiLorenzo began his professional career in advertising and new business development in New York City, but after some time, felt that he could contribute in more meaningful ways in the areas of education and community development. Since this transition, he has worked in the public school system in New Orleans, spent a couple of years with the Peace Corps in Africa, and traveled and volunteered in the Middle East and Asia. A recent transplant to Sonoma, he hopes to foster the relationships necessary to understand the community, and work with the organization to continue to develop deep, meaningful programming for youth in the community, Cusick said.
Founded in 1962, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley serves more than 2,000 children and teens annually across five Sonoma Valley school sites and its Maxwell Clubhouse.
