Man dead in Springs fight

A fight outside the Valley of the Moon Teen Center in Agua Caliente on Friday left one man dead and another in jail.

Mario Zamudio Perez, 25, was transported from the scene to the Sonoma Valley Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. An autopsy is scheduled for next week to determine the cause of death.

Investigation of the incident revealed the suspect was Joshua Javier Gonzalez, age 19, also from Sonoma Valley, according to the Sheriff’s report. The suspect was later located and taken into custody.

Gonzalez was booked into the jail for involuntary manslaughter. He is being held on $25,000 bail and is awaiting arraignment.

At about 5:30 p.m., deputies from the Sonoma Valley substation, along with medical personnel, were dispatched at about 5:30 p.m. to a reported fight outside the center at 17440 Highway 12.
