“I saw it written and I saw it say, pink moon is on its way,” – Pink Moon, Nick Drake

California will be the best place on the US mainland to view the first total eclipse of the year. Here in Sonoma, we can expect the the lunar eclipse to start at 3:15 AM and by 5 AM it will be a full eclipse. This is when the sun, moon, and Earth are perfectly aligned and the Earth’s shadow eclipses the moon and creates the mysterious pink, or blood red, moon.

So either stay up late…or get up early, it will be a beautiful sight to behold from anywhere in Sonoma Valley.
