Benedetti Farms, the folks who are known for Willie Bird Turkeys, have issued a recall for their Willie Bird Turkey and Sierra Sausage brands due to a mislabeling.

While the health risk is low, the chicken and turkey sausages were wrapped in hog and sheep casings, which was not properly stated on the labels. A small percentage of people suffer from severe allergies from pig and sheep proteins and other people may choose not to eat pork or sheep and did not know that these sausages utilized hog and sheep casings.

The sausages being recalled were produced between December 14, 2015 and June 4, 2015. Simply bring the product back to your local grocery store for a refund. Here is a listing of the products recalled:

  1. Thanks Sarah. All such worries would disappear if we stopped eating animals. But then somebody would probably have an allergy to broccoli.
