The young locals, along with advisers Nick Haley and Kendra Menefee, were among 1,600 teens at the conference, where guest speakers included Olympian Jackie Joyner Kersey.
“The experience in general was moving,” Haley said. “Meeting other teens from around the country, many of who had not traveled outside of their respective states, and coming together for a night in Disney World was nothing short of a life changing experience.” The Valley teens formed bonds and friendships, he said, and are working on collaborative community service projects with clubs from Arizona and San Francisco.
