The annual Sonoma Chili Cook Off has been canceled this year, but don’t fret chili lovers, you can still pig out on tasty chili from the two time winner, Josh Southworth, this weekend.

Saturday, Carneros Brewing Company will host Southworth, the 2013 and 2014 winner of the Sonoma Chili Cook Off.

For a mere $5 a bowl, you can score Southworth’s “2015 No Contest Beef Chili.” Beer from the brewery will also be available for purchase.

Proceeds from the chili sale will benefit the Lake County Animal Shelter. The organization has been one of the leaders in helping to shelter and care for injured animal victims from the Valley Fires – and also reconnecting pets with their families.

Saturday, they brewery will be releasing two new beers: the Fresh Hop Pale Ale and a Kölsch. These beers are extra special because they are made using the Brewery’s own estate grown hops.

Owned by the Ceja family, Carneros Brewing Company is one of the few Latino owned breweries in the United States. Only about 1% of breweries in the US are Latino owned.

All members of the family are welcome, as kids (and adults) can play cornhole and enjoy outdoor time by the nice pond on the property. Don’t like beer? The Ceja tasting room is located onsite for those looking for wine.

Southworth will be serving up chili from 11 AM-5PM, or until it’s gone.  22985 Burndale Rd, Sonoma; 938-1880; carnerosbrewing.com.
