New plan for Moon Mountain Road lot

Posted on May 25, 2016 by Sonoma Valley Sun

unnamed-6 The neighbors who fought an illegal housing project at Highway 12 and Moon Mountain Drive – two decaying, half-built structures that were ultimately torn down last October – are ramping up to fight the latest plan for the two-acre parcel. Proposed for the site by new owner, KS Mattson Partners LP, are two luxury homes of about 5,000 sq. ft., each with five bedrooms with bathrooms, and a three-car garage.

Each house would have a second unit of 824 sq. ft. and a swimming pool. The developer has submitted initial plans to the County, including this rendering of what the structures would look like from the highway.

The plan will be publicly introduced at an upcoming Sonoma Valley Citizens Advisory Committee meeting, and formally considered by the County’s Permit & Resource Management Department. A ten-day notice of an informational meeting for neighbors will be sent out soon, a PRMD spokesperson told The Sun.
