Sonoma Safeway proposes construction of a gas station

Posted on July 24, 2016 by Sonoma Valley Sun

Based upon notices posted in the neighborhood of Sonoma’s Safeway store at West Napa Street and 5th Street West, a public hearing will be held on August 11, 2016 at the Planning Commission meeting beginning at 6:30 P.M. in the community meeting room on First Street West. The posted notice states the Project Description as follows:

“Study session on a proposal to construct a Safeway gas station and expand the Safeway Supermarket at 477 West Napa Street, in conjunction with associated circulation and parking lot upgrades.”

A gas station proposal has been floated before the city previously, and subsequently withdrawn, but that was at least a decade ago.
